Company History

Professional Employee Leasing, Inc. (PEL) is a Professional Employer Organization, or PEO, specializing in the health care industry. With over 53 years of related experience, PEL is committed to providing health care professionals with the management tools and strategies they need to increase income, minimize expenses and maximize employee efficiency.

  • Increase Income: When PEL assumes the arduous tasks of payroll, workers' comp reporting and benefit plan maintenance, our clients can focus their time on increasing collections, as well as seeing more patients.

  • Minimize expenses: With PEL's 125 and retirement savings plans, both the employees' and employer's tax liabilities are significantly reduced.

  • Maximize employee efficiency: Federal & state regulations, wage and hour issues, tax laws - staying in compliance can often be a full time job, but not the job you intended for your staff. PEL's staff is trained to stay current on these, and the many other compliance issues that can otherwise encroach on yours and your staff's valuable time.

Officers

ROBERT L. DOBBS, President

Mr. Dobbs co-founded Professional Employee Leasing, Inc. in February of 1997, in response to the health care professionals' rising need for more effective management. As President and Founder of Medical & Dental Management of Tampa Bay, Inc., Mr. Dobbs has over 29 years of proven experience in providing management consulting, including benefits administration and payroll services to members of the health care industry.

In addition to providing accounting, income tax services and retirement plan administration, Mr. Dobbs has advised health care providers in the areas of contract drafting and negotiations, managed care company negotiations, employee benefit plan design and various human resource issues. Mr. Dobbs is a Certified Healthcare Business Consultant.

STANLEY N. CROOMS, Vice President

Mr. Crooms co-founded Professional Employee Leasing, Inc. with the vision to provide PEL's clients and employees with a unique advantage in the benefits arena.

As President and Founder of Bay Insurance Group, Inc., Mr. Crooms has been designing employee benefits programs for over 20 years. His knowledge and expertise in health, life, property & casualty insurance, variable annuities and other investments translate into excellent benefits management for the clients and employees of PEL.

In addition to negotiating re-insurance contracts, Mr. Crooms has also provided retirement and investment services for clients utilizing 401(k) plans as well as both pension and profit sharing plans.

He is past president of the Sun Coast Chapter of CLU's and ChFC's.
